People: Vijayan, Saravanan, Balaji and Nagesh

It was a dream come true when my PL called me over the phone and said that I am waiting on the wings to fly to US. To be frank I never expected to go to US.

Everything started happening very fast and one fine day, I was asked to go for Visa Interview. Since I am going to visit US in Business Visa, I was trained to tell lots of lies and the fact 'Truth always truimphs' made false in my case as I was given the Business Visa for a year. Had I told more lies I would got the Multiple entry Visa for 10 years.

My journey date was nearing and after crossing the first hurdle 'Visa Interview', my next expectation is the flight journey. I was eagerly waiting for the flight journey as my friends who have been in the flight told about the Airhostess :-) and I have seen few when I have been to the Airport to send/receive my friends to/from abroad. But in my first flight to Singapore only "Pattis" (Old People) 'Indian Airlines Oliga', were there as Airhostess. Saravanan was the one who was shocked by this and he didn't even had his food in the flight.

It was raining heavily on the day of journey and as if chennai doesn't want to leave us. I was eagerly waiting to climb the stairs in the flight as I have seen in some movies where the hero/heroine used to waive hands to the people. But that was thought was dashed when we were taken directly inside the flight. I sat on the window seat and I was expecting the take off and flight started moving at a very fast speed and suddenly it came and stopped in the same place where it started :-( donno the reason for this stop, may be the pilot was checking whether Brake's are working properly.

We came via Singapore, Hongkong to Sanfrancisco. Hongkong terminal was very big and we need to walk from one corner to another corner it took around 30 minutes walk to reach the flight. No photo's were taken as we didn't have camera while going :-(

It was pleasant journey we ate all the things they gave in the flight except drinks. We had Asian Vegetarian and the people who sat next to us closed their nose till we finish the food. Different people have different tastes!!!

Once we landed in the "Land of comfort" the next thing which came into our mind is to clear the immigration check. We cleared by telling another set of lies like no food items in the baggage etc... Again "Truth is the not the only thing which truimphs, Lies too" :-(

We took a cab and reached the hotel. We used to wake up(Jet Lag) very early between 1 Am to 3 AM and started cooking as we can't (unable ) to sleep after that. Our cooking made our life more enjoyable. Everyone is new to cooking. We switched on the electric stove and were searching for the lighter to start it. Suddenly Nagesh/Saro were saying gas might be leaking so we can get the help from the hotel front desk. After their explanation only we came to know the stove we had is electric stove and it doesn't need lighter to start.

Nagesh is a specialist in preparing "Dhal" and "Rice", he made cooking simpler, put "Dhal" and "Rice" in cooker and put it in the stove for some time....Only thing is he can eat..... So he was given the nickname "The Cooker".

Saravanan is a Sambar and Maggi specialist... and I am a specialist in Finishing of the things they prepare.

The most memorable thing in U.S is spending time with Nithil, my sister's son. I used to play with him and spend time.

My Sister and Mama were taking care of me like anything. They used to go to office very early in the morning before 7.00 AM and I used to get up by 9.30 AM and inspite of her busy schedule my Sister wud have packed the lunch for me. My mama is a very good specialist in "Briyani"---> Totally he his a good Cook. It was like staying in another home.. They took me to all the different varieties of hotels, Debut is with "Chinese" and finishing off with "Todai" a hotel famous for Sea Food. You can see all the Sea habitats there in that hotel.

Another good thing about the trip is meeting my college mate "Krishna" after a long time...... We spent a lot of time travelling together....Those will be updated in a seperate blog.... Appa thane naanum neriya blog elutha mudiyum.....
