Ooty Trip
People: Vayasupasanga (Anju, Mohan, Kingsley,Basha, Ravi, Potturi, Bond Prabhu, Sambar Saro, Jumpu Jamal, Solo Karthik & Vijayan)
Date: July 1st & 2nd
A treat cum trip materialized when we guys decided to go for a trip to Ooty. Since the vayasupasga got bored of going to hotels and having food for treat, we decided to club that amount and go for a trip.
We started the trip on June 30th around 5 p.m from our office, the plan is to have Dinner in Kingsley's house at Wallaja & Watch the Germany Vs Argentina Match. Mohan was a pucca Vegetarian before we started the trip after he tasted the chicken briyani in Kingsley's house now he started liking NonVegetarian foods. Thats the taste of the Briyani provided by Kingsley.
Our next destination was to 'Koduveri' falls in Gobi Chettipalayam(Greenest place in Tamil Nadu), on the way to falls we had our breakfast in Jamal's house. Gobi Chettipalayam was the only outdoor shooting place for most of the movies in early 80's & 90's. And the reason for the greenery is the koduveri river.

This house was part of the biggest hit tamil film "Chinna Thambi". This is the house of Prabhu. This house is on the banks of Koduveri River,

After taking bath & 'Parisal' ride in the river, we started proceeding to Ooty and reached there by 3 pm in the evening.
Going to Ooty without going to Todda Betta (highest point in Ooty), Lake and Botanical Garden is waste. We didn't waste this chance as we went to all these places :-)
This photo was taken on the way to Todda Betta, you would have seen this spot in many films eg Valli, Johnny etc..

The complete gang at Botanical Garden,

After the Botanical garden visit it's time for us to return back to chennai and we decided to come back in the Historical Hill train so we asked the Van driver to wait for us in Mettupalayam railway station.
Waiting for the train's arrival

UNESCO's Heritage train @ the back drop

The train is operated with Diesel engine from Ooty to Connor and from Connor to Mettupalayam its operated with the Steam Engine. The Steam engine in the below image dates back to 1899 and it negoitiates 16 tunnels and 31 bridges. The other interesting feature about this engine is it always faces one station i.e Mettupalayam. While climbing the hill, the engine will push the other coaches from the back...

The greenish view in this train journey is breath taking and it requires every second of the journey to be picturised.
